I ran from the guards with my silver blade in hand, knowing nothing good could come next. I slid under the closing security door and into the vehicle hanger. A heavily armed guard rushes me and without hesitation, I stab the blade deep into his chest. His body disintegrates around the blade that now glows blue. I swing the blade and slice another guard in half before stabbing it backward into a third.
Pain fills my shoulder and I glance down. A laser gun round has ripped through my armor and straight through my shoulder blade. Before I can react, I hear a gasp for breath. My gaze travels to a guard suspended through the air with a large, curved sword. The blade is ripped out of him and his body melts into a pile of clothes. “Let’s go, Blyeth!” Aros, a four-foot-tall Merg calls.
I spin rapidly, slicing through two more defenseless guards before sprinting toward the hovering rie feet away. Aros slams the door shut and instructs Curi, a gorgeous, blue-haired Eliv, “Drive!”
Before I can buckle up, Curi floors it, causing me to slam against the window with my injured shoulder. I cringe as pain shoots through my arm. My right grabs my shoulder and I focus my attention on the staring guards below. My view is blocked by shattering metal shards as Curi smashes the rie through the wall. “I count five followers!” Aros calls, staring out the back window.
“Not for long!” Curi calls, flipping two switches on the control console in front of her.
Curi slams the green button and I watch ten tors fly from our rie and target the enemies behind us. One by one, the ries explode, leaving us traveling through space without a threat. I slip a glowing pink and white ball from my sack and smile. “Easy!” I mumble, tossing it to Aros, who nods.
Aros opens a padlocked box to expose a blue and purple cube. He sets the new treasure beside it and locks the box. “One more and the galaxy is ours!” he exclaims, a menacing smile on his face.
